Waterloo Uptown Primary Node and Erb Street Corridor CPP By-law

SGL was initially retained by the City of Waterloo to undertake a Community Planning Permit System Study to provide an overview of the benefits and challenges of a CPPS, assess opportunities and prepare for the potential implementation in Waterloo. As part of the CPPS Study, SGL prepared a study report, an education booklet, as well as draft CPPS Official Plan policies.

Following the completion of the CPPS Study in 2023, SGL was then retained by the City in 2024 to undertake a Community Planning Permit System for the Erb Street Corridor and Uptown Urban Growth Centre. This area is envisioned to develop and redevelop over time to support growth, affordable and attainable housing, transit, walkability and a high quality public realm. SGL was also responsible for creating a set of urban design guidelines associated with the CPPS.
