Senior policy planner

We are currently seeking a senior policy planner with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Understanding and interpreting Provincial policy documents;

  • Writing proposals for secondary plans, official plans, comprehensive zoning by-laws and area studies;

  • Project managing multi-disciplinary teams of consultants;

  • Liaising with municipal and private sector clients;

  • Preparing background studies and coordinating preparation of technical consultant studies;

  • Preparing Secondary Plans, Official Plans, Zoning By-laws and Community Planning Permit By-laws;

  • Preparing, coordinating and implementing community consultation plans;

  • Preparing Planning Justification Reports with detailed policy reviews; and

  • Supporting the principals in attendance at Ontario Land Tribunal hearings.

 

Experience in many of these key areas is essential.

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience with the opportunity to progress to shareholder and principal status. SGL has a comprehensive benefit package and provides bonuses to staff based on the level of profitability at the end of each year.
