SGL Planning was retained by the Town of Grimsby to examine opportunities for the Town to regulate activities permitted under the Cannabis Act. Based on background research of current standards and legislation, as well as a best practice review, our team assessed and recommended changes to the Official Plan and Zoning By-law as needed, in order to regulate cannabis production as a land use. Public consultation, and feedback was led by SGL, which assisted in the formulation of policy options and consideration for policy implementation measures for the Town.
